The One-Hour Adventure

Novelty does not require a free weekend.

By Serai Elvon

Novelty does not require a free weekend.

Something romantic to do together

Choose a nearby place neither of you normally visits: a viewpoint, small bakery, garden center, beach, neighborhood, or evening market. Give yourselves one hour and treat it as an expedition rather than an errand.

One concrete act of attention

Take one photo of each other, not only the scenery. Tell your partner what you find attractive in the photo. Later, send it with a short message about the moment.

In bed: read this together

Let the playful energy continue at home. Try kissing in a place you do not usually stop - by the doorway, in the hallway, or against the kitchen counter - then move to privacy. In bed, try a familiar face-to-face position with the receiving partner near the edge and the other standing or kneeling only if both are comfortable. Use support and keep the pace easy; novelty should not mean strain.

A gentle rule for the week

Enthusiasm matters more than completing the suggestion. Adjust for health, pregnancy, postpartum recovery, disability, pain, energy, privacy, contraception, and personal boundaries.
